Your vote is between you and the ballot box
There’s a whisper going around Lake County that you have to lean in to hear: More than a few moderate Republicans are saying they can’t bring themselves to cast their ballot for a Trump adherent with little-to-no life, work or political experience who has never even lived in Lake County full-time.
That would be Finley Warden, who just turned 21. He’s the House District 13 candidate who called a hotel home during the primary. Oh, and he registered to vote here for the first time last January, according to public records.
But the MAGA demand for complete fealty, and the fear of what standing up for moderation could cost them, means that most concerned Republicans won’t speak up or out.
In this ugly political climate, that’s understandable. It’s also a shame.
Lake County would benefit hugely by sending Dalton Bradford, 30, a state property appraiser who grew up in Polson, to Helena. Instead of divisiveness, his emphasis is on working with anyone and everyone who can benefit the people who actually live here.
Fortunately, the voting booth is sacrosanct. No one from your party ever need know. Your vote for Bradford is between you and the ballot box.
